Steeven Salvat, a Paris-based artist, has just finished a new interesting art that would certainly blow your mind. Mechanical/Biological Crustacean Study is a collection of the French illustrator which showcases carefully drawn crustaceans in half biological and half mechanical format.
All the drawings have been created using one kind of pen: A 0.13mm Rotring. Shrimps, crabs, and lobsters are among his subjects of work, portraying them in a mechanical, almost sci-fi way. Each of these crustacean drawings took at least 30 hours to be finished and is drawn on homemade paper colored with tea.

The purpose of the tea is to give it a rustic, classic look and reminds audiences of nautical maps drawn on papyrus and scrolls in ancient times. The collection, which was done in 3 months, was inspired by Salvat’s old biological studies. The font he used to caption his drawings was also personally handcrafted specifically for this project.
