Giant ice sculptures carved from frozen river in China

As the Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival approaches local visitors got a preview of the huge art on display ahead the official opening on January 5th. The festival is held in Heilongjiang Province in North East China where it stays cold enough to keep the temporary sculptures frozen for the duration of the month-long event.

Where do you get a block of ice large enough to carve out a T-Rex? From the local Songhua River which is currently frozen. From this ice-source is born giant 3D art of woolly mammoths, reindeer, an ice palace and even a cathedral replica!

Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.
