Graphics mastermind spends 5 years trying to determine if Vermeer’s painting is a color photo

When you’re good at something, do more of it, and make it interesting. This seems to be the ideology of computer graphics specialist and inventor Tim Jenison. He’s a computer graphics mastermind who has spent five years trying to determine how one of the most famous paintings in history can look like a modern color photograph.

The Texas-based inventor is a massive fan of Johannes Vermeer’s work. Vermeer is an artist of such incredible talent that his paintings can hardly be called paintings. His famous artwork ‘The Music Lesson’ has become the subject of Jenison’s research. Its profound realism resulted in Jenison recreating the entire scene by repainting it down to the last detail. His five-year journey has recently been released as documentary titled ‘Tim’s Vermeer.’
