Paris-based artist Mr. PLANT, also known as Christophe Guinet, has a new series of sculptures titled ‘Just Grow It’ that have parodied the iconic Nike shoe brand. He has assembled surreal works from organic materials like wood, flowers and dirt into sneakers. The shoes are crafted with impressive dexterity and small details of the objects are considered, from the laces down to the classic swoosh.
The shoes are an icon of urban youth, consumerism and status and ask the viewer to reconsider big-brands and mass manufacturing for the smaller organic alternatives. Check out more of Mr. PLANTs work on his website.
