IKEA produces edible instruction manual that makes cooking easy and foolproof

When it comes to cooking, most people who have never done it or are scared of doing it either try to stay away from cooking duties or entirely disregard the whole idea of trying. It can become frustrating but furniture mogul IKEA and a Toronto-based ad agency have recently introduced a new and quirky way of helping people overcome this dilemma.

Leo Burnett Toronto together with IKEA’s food items and iconic step-by-step instruction manual created a cool life hack to inspire people to try something new when it comes to food. Instructions and ingredients are all printed on an edible parchment paper using food-safe ink to help people start and finish a recipe in one, uncomplicated go. The project is fittingly called “cook this page.”

Explaining the project, Leo Burnett’s creative directors Anthony Chelvanathan and Steve Persico explained that “trying new recipes is a little scary for people. We set out to make it better, easier and more creative by using creativity to reinvent the recipe.”
