Alex Chinneck is the artist behind two engaging building façade projects in the UK. In ‘Miner On The Moon’ Chinneck took what used to be an outdated stable in London and flipped the whole front upside down.
In ‘From The Knees Of My Nose To The Belly Of My Toes,’ Chinneck took an abandoned building and created the illusion that the front had detached and was slipping down, away from the rest of the building.

Chinneck is interested in the subtle spectacle, using a visual vocabulary that simultaneously blends in, and blatantly sticks out. Some have suggested that Chinneck’s façades are symbolic of the socio-economic scenes they’re located in. For instance, the area where ‘Miner On The Moon’ is located is being turned ‘upside-down’ with its transition from old heritage buildings to new industrial ones.
