Every time René Bieder publishes a new font family, I’m excited like a little child on Christmas Eve. He always manages to come up with something surprisingly new. Just a few days ago, the outstanding German type designer introduced Magnat to the world. This contrasting sans serif font family includes 3 optical sizes and 36 styles in total. One can clearly see, the striking typeface draws inspiration from designs of the early 1920s. René Bieder has masterfully translated these design principles into an elegant and distinctive contemporary font family. Playful elements break the strictness of the typeface and add this unique touch to the design. The mix of closed apertures and contrasting strokes results in an elegant and distinctive appearance.
As already mentioned, the family is divided into 3 subfamilies consisting of Poster, Head, and Text. Each has been designed for individual use ranging from texts in small sizes to bold headlines. The different weights are accompanied by true Italics. The Magnat font family also comes with lots of typographic features and multi-language support.
