Processed Views: when junk food is the landscape

Barbara Ciurej and Lindsay Lochman are the creative forces behind “Processed Views”, where the historic photos and work of Carleton Watkins (1829-1916) are the inspiration for junk-food-imbued landscapes.

From potato chips, Cheetos, Fruit Loops, french fries, marshmallows, and more, Ciurej and Lochman molded food into scenes taken out the early American West. These scenes are meant to shed light on the relationships people have with food as it grows ever more into the industrial realm.
