Sculptures reveal the hidden backbone of commonplace souvenirs

I want to start by saying any man with this kind of talent must be a savant. Maskull Lasserre is a Canadian born artist and sculptor who has literally blown my mind. He is known for his revealing carvings of every day objects that allow viewers to pass through a dark portal and into a macabre realm of unimagined anatomy. His latest work reveals the hidden inner workings of the mass produced souvenir, and it’s pretty cool.

Carving through the pre-sculpted works of another faceless artist, Lasserre reworks the structure giving them true depth. With extreme detail, he gives these inanimate souvenirs a backbone, a skeleton, a story. All his works are truly a sight to behold, and this latest collection doesn’t miss the mark.
