Small elements make a big impact in these intricate installations

Tara Donnavan is a Brooklyn-based installation artist who has a unique way of transforming spaces. Predominantly using everyday objects, Donnavan builds her forms with large quantities of a single object. With something as simple as Styrofoam cups and hot glue, the viewer discovers new properties of the material through the work—the subtle luminosity or the reinforced edge of the round lip.

The artist was trained in sculpture at Virginia Commonwealth University and the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, D.C. Installation exhibitions of Donnavan’s work will be on display at the Pace Gallery in New York and its sister gallery in Menlo Park, California.
