Damian Smith has been a creative person his whole life, starting with colouring in comic books as a little kid and have been a pretty big comic nerd ever since. He loves the amplified storytelling, and this love of storytelling has carried through all elements of his life. For him, it’s the storytelling that I love in jokes, music, movies, relationships and art.
It’s his curious nature that often has him stopping to notice the colour combinations of plants, landscapes, cityscapes and seascapes.
His latest series of paintings and drawings focus on the relationship between people and their environment through surreal portraits. The works reflect on our emotional connection to the land and the impact our decisions have on the environment. Take a look below.
