Japanese illustrator/designer Heisuke Kitazawa has made a career out of his enchanting, fairy tale-like illustrations. His list of past projects include high-profile clients such as Kenzo Parfums, The Guardian, Honda, and Nickelodeon. Besides children’s book covers and editorials, he has also worked on music artwork for indie bands like Her Space Holiday, Trespassers William, Grand Hallway, and Admiral Radley.
The Tokyo/Los Angeles-based illustrator’s amazingly intricate illustrations often feature young characters in dreamlike, surreal settings with a dark undertone. They offer a glimpse into a parallel fantasy world reminiscent of Hayao Miyazaki’s works with Studio Ghibli.
